Energy Psychology: An Integrated Neuroscience Paradigm

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 4.21.06 PM 250pxA recent poll of ACEP membership found that the thing most members want to know about is the science behind energy psychology. With that in mind, here is a video of Dr. Robert Schwarz (in conversation with Michael DeMolina) creating a coherent neuroscience frame for why EP works. Included is a description of three interlocking brain processes (amygdala deactivation, polyvagal theory and memory reconsolidation) that explain why EP is so effective in treating trauma. It accounts for the deep changes that people regularly experience and how previously traumatic memories are permanently changed to neutral or processed memories in as little as a single session.

This is the first time these three processes have been integrated into a coherent narrative about EP’s effectiveness within an interpersonal neurobiology frame.

You can view the video here in three short segments.

LOVE this series of videos. Thanks to you Pioneers, Bob and Dan, who along with David Feinstein work so diligently to have Energy Psychology made acceptable and accessible!

  2. Once again, scientific theories help explain the phenomenal results from energy psychology methods.

  3. Cool. Thanks guys. That was very helpful on a number of levels.

  4. This was fantastic, as are the Various EP methods. I would like to see info on GIM, or the Helen Bonny method of Guided Imagery with Music as well!!!
